There are also many excellent Samui bars
that offer a variety of themes and music
styles. If you prefer listening to Jamaica
tunes then a visit to the Chaweng based
Reggae pub is a must. This famous Samui
nightlife venue is well known for its great
staff and an awesome live band.
Q Bar presides over the lake with some great
views. It’s your traditional Samui bar,
middle aged guys getting an unrealistic kick
out of attention from girls on the game, but
the budget is about ten times higher. It
also serves food on the upper floor.
 Disco
Samui discos are very popular with tourists
visiting the island and the Green Mango is
the most popular of all the Samui disco
nightlife venues. The Green Mango disco in
Chaweng Beach opens at around ten and the
famous Samui nightlife spot closes in the
early hours of the morning. DJ’s at the
Samui discos play a variety of music with
most clubs playing mostly top 40 music and
lots of house and techno music.
Cabaret Show
Ladyboy Cabarets might not be everyones cup
of tea but for the fans among you, Chaweng
beach has plenty to choose from! Thailand's
Katoeys or the third sex are world famous,
partly because there are so many of them and
also because they are so feminine. Most of
the cabarets in Chaweng are located near the
Central hotel which makes for interesting
competition before the show. The girls hand
out flyers and sometimes drag you in to
their bar forcibly! Keep an open mind and
enjoy the show!
Christy's Cabaret is one of the oldest
cabarets in town and also one of the best.
The girls at Christy's are very practised at
lip syncing and the show is very
professional. Christy's has a small cover
charge and reasonably priced drinks. The
show starts at 10pm every night.
Live Music
The Beach Pub at Secret Garden has become
one of South East Asia's leading venues
during the last 5 years. Musicians, both pro
and semi-pro have the chance to play stress
free, on a wonderful beach, with other
musicians from all over the world. If you're
a musician and are planning a visit to
Thailand, come and join us. These sessions
take place every Sunday afternoon from 4p.m.
until 8p.m. and usually attracts a crowd of
2 to 3 hundred people, all in a party mood.
Party
Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan is not just a
normal party but monthly Haad Rin's dance
music festival which is famous worldwide,
with everything from drum and bass to
full-on psy-trance. Paradise Bungalows, the
site of the original Full Moon Party,
consistently puts on the biggest show with
inspired decor and a combination of superb
resident and international guest DJs.
Back Moon Party at Chaweng Lake View is a
monthly festival feel and stunning uplit
palm trees, January kicks off an incredible
list of Lake View gigs with DJ Dave
chambers, a self confessed hip-hop and
breaks freak since he was knee high. Dave’s
recent transition into one of the UK’s most
exciting DJs proves just how lucky Samui is
to have him gracing the island’s shores.
With residencies at Space Ibiza and Ministry
of Sound, his famous phat beats will be
resounding across Chaweng Lake creating a
dance energy all of their own.
